Boys at Play

They still love rescue bots.  They wrestle all the time.  They ask for a snack ever 5 and a half seconds (maybe that's not true but it feels like it).  They torture each other.  They watch movies in our makeshift living room (we're still unpacking storage). Solomon practices potty training. Malachi asks me if I can count to ____ all the time.  I've reassured him I can count to just about all the numbers he can think of but it has not stopped the questions. Solomon folds his arms in anger and bows his head as he says, "hm." Malachi is doing so much better at controlling his anger. Solomon has picked up so many words so quickly. Malachi likes to baby his best brother. They like to get in bed and cuddle with me. Solomon gives me kisses all day long. Malachi tells me I'm beautiful all day long. My self esteem is through the roof. Solomon is still always filthy no matter what. Malachi asks a lot of questions. The...

Straight Hair Sisters Ready for School

These girls are great friends and I love it (as I always have). They ask me to fix their hair certain ways for school and today we had time to flat iron it. They loved it for sure, it definitely made them feel like big girls. Today I brought treats to their classes and they squealed with delight.  I love spoiling them with such simple things and it meaning the world to them. So far all smiley faces each day after school in their agenda.   Now if we could get Mali Su moving a little faster in the mornings we'd be all set.

Webb Family Visit

I love catching up with friends.  The Webb boys always ran over to my house while in High School.  They would run or bike over.  Sometimes they would come in the middle of the night after climbing up a tall tower and hanging a bed sheet like a flag.  Sometimes they would come over and hide after paint balling or "wrapping" a house (toilet paper).   My house was the hang/hide out but was always good clean fun.  I am so grateful for the high school experience I had.  It was such a good one.  I hope that my kids can have something similar but like my parents before me I know that times have changed and so have the atmospheres my children will find themselves in.  It makes me sad to think about.  I'm not talking about the invention of rock n roll music that worried parents to death back then, I'm talking bullying unlike any generation has ever seen.  I worry for my children about being picked on.  This is a new worry I didn'...

Phone Dump Catch-up

Mali Su graduated from preschool and had a great summer at Montessori with the same teacher Aimi Lark had, Miss Vindra.  We were told that Mali Su already knew pretty much everything they were teaching so they would have her teach the kids too!  Smart girl.  On our last night we ended up having a sleepover at Miss Ashlynn's since we had such a successful day moving the big furniture.  On the final day the house was empty and Jake was gone to storage with the kids.  I finished touch up painting and cleaning floors.  The water was turned off and the power was on the verge of being shut off as well.  After I finished I laid down on the floor and napped til Jake arrived home fearful because I didn't answer when he called my name, that was a deep sleep!  We headed out that day and got to Nana's where we slept a peaceful sleep in her pretty girly home.  We drove through the Mobile tunnel on our way from FL to TX.  As soon ...
