When I'm impatient

I feel like a bad mother. I am impatient I feel a lot lately, more than your average mother of young children and/or teenagers. Jake and my Mom are really being fabulous help here at home, I am so grateful. I just hope I can get out of this funk soon and get back to functioning on all (more patient) cylinders.

We went to IKEA

Jake is not a big fan of IKEA.   We were in desperate need of some beds though  and since I was able to convince him they had the best deal  and were close by  AND had a play place for the girls we went.   Malachi stayed at home with Mia (since he isn't potty trained and that's a play place requirement) and we took the girls.  Mia did let us know that Malachi did some "business" on the potty!  Jake had been working with him ALL morning and shortly after we left SUCCESS.   OK so back to IKEA. We got beds. The girls played. We got ICEEs. The beds are PERFECT!  Malachi enjoyed "helping" put them together.   The boys' room looks FANTASTIC!

A "Mother of the Year" Kinda Day

So this morning, bright and early, Jake and I went for an ultrasound.  I switched OBs and she wanted to see the baby's current size and such.  I was excited for a little morning "date" with Jake. She gave us an estimated weight of 5lbs 13oz.  If he gains a half pound per week and I go to forty weeks we'll be at approximately 9lbs!  Good thing I don't put too much stock in these approximate weight measurements. So after the early morning ultrasound I came home exhausted and wanting to go back to bed, so I did. My kind husband babysat ALL day, I slept ALL DAY. Tonight after playing outside and bathing the kids I fed them dinner. Well the dinner they found themselves digging in the pantry. Cookies and M&Ms. That's right folks, my kids had cookies and M&Ms for dinner.   I'm pretty sure that makes me "mother of the year." (in their book at least) For the record my mom did make red beans and rice (with sausage) for dinner but it was easier ...

Sisters

I didn't grow up with a sister. My sister, Delaney, was born after I was married. I love seeing these girls together. I love having daughters. I keep imagining all the bonding we will be able to get in. Last night when putting the girls to bed I kept having to scold them for playing. Aimi Lark told me, "but we're best friends!  we just want to look at each other." I am going to strive to help cultivate their relationship so that they will always want to be "best friends."

34 Weeks Pregnant and Solomon's "SPRINKLE"

Yesterday was my "SPRINKLE."   Food, Fun, and Friends! My kind of party!  Chicken curry croissants.  Oreo pops.  PRESENTS!  Solomon is all set with his hand-me-downs from friends and Malachi. He got LOTS of diapers, wipes, and bath stuff. What else could a baby ask for!? The group (with Carmen, without Ezra) Erleen, Carmen, Brenda, baby Owen, Gretchen, Morgan, Lynae, Katie, Me, and Debbie (not pictured, Amy, Mary, and Sharelle)  With baby Ezra but without Carmen's face Thank you Katie for hosting.  It was a fabulous SPRINKLE! I am so grateful to everyone for all they pitched in to make the party a success! Oh and while at my SPRINKLE I read this in my email on my phone: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers – which he'll need to regulate his body temperature once he's born – are filling her out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central ner...

7 Years of Marriage

We celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary. Jake babysat pretty much ALL day long while I spent the day being spoiled by friends at my SPRINKLE and pampered at the spa with the most amazing Pregnancy Massage.  Jake did his research and found the place with the top rated PREGNANCY massage in all of Orlando and they did NOT disappoint. I took this picture after my massage, flush faced and relaxed to the max.  I LOVED the table they had for my tummy.  Jake's sent me for a pregnancy massage with each pregnancy and this one by far was superior, table and all.  I'd love to have one of those tables with the belly cut-outs at home.  Oh and ALL my Valentine's Day lillies bloomed.  They are my most favorite lillies from Jake ever! Life is good right now. Best Lillies, Best Massage and NO 7 year itch. We're good!

A really (really) long week

Brody has taken up mowing lawns to earn some money.  Tonight we headed to take him to mow a lawn in Lake Nona so the girls and I killed time on a little mother/daughter date at Tijuana Flats, I love their queso.  I think I'll have mother/daughter dates more often, it was a blast!  Mali Su enjoyed coloring more and Aimi Lark and I were steadily eating away at the chips and dip.  I LOVE chips and dip.  Yesterday I met my friend Katie for pedicures.  I wanted one, she had a gift certificate so we made a little morning of it.  I went bright pink with glitter, you know, like Barbie.   I love the massage chairs!  Thanks Katie! Beau's iPod got stolen from school today during PE.  LAME.  Guess you live and you learn. My mom and the boys are going out of town this weekend.  We will have an empty house, not the usual for us. The most quoted movie line in our house has been and still is, "Molly, stay out of my room" "I wasn't in your...
