Memories in T-shirts

As I itemize our life for flood insurance contents purposes I come across things that make me smile.
I come across things that make me cry.
I come across things that make me think, "why do we still have that?"

Today it was these shirts.
I have a specific memories of Jake in each of these shirts.
The 58 shirt I bought for him with carpenter pants when we were dating.
The play station shirt from his friend Kenny from before we were dating.
The Hogi Yogi shirt from the days he would make me the best Philly cheese-steak sandwiches in the world.
The guns shirt that I bought him because I thought it was perfect for my big strong man whose arms I have loved since we were dating.

Life goes on and stuff is just stuff, but memory lane has a funny way of bringing up memories you forgot to remember.

In this picture he is wearing that Hogi Yogi shirt, the first time I saw snow fall.

Stuff is more than just stuff.
It represents so much more.
I know it's easy to say, "but what's important is ok, you and your family members are ok"
Sure, that's definitely true, but that stuff has so much attached to it that it's ok for it to be more than
"just stuff" sometimes.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
