Blessings not Stressings

Last night as we laid in bed we found ourselves listing off to each other all the things we were stressed about and as we talked the more I felt defeated.
I realized I am not going to focus on what we are stressed about, but what we do have right now in such a terrible time of our lives.

SO MANY friends and family have reached out and helped us and buoyed us up.

We have a roof over our heads living with some amazing people from church.

We have flood insurance and a contractor who we trust.

We have our health and each other.

"If money can fix it, it's not really a problem"

These pictures were taken when we were reunited after the flood
and at first all I could see were my flaws
but then I saw something beautiful
something bigger than flaws
I saw us
Us who can overcome
and come off conqueror.

During all of this I want to remember

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
