Another Shillig Sunday

I work with the children in our church each week and one week we did this little activity and sent it into our church website. They shared how they can be like Christ. It is so enjoyable to live near family, these are some of our nephews and a niece as well as our children.

After church it is so nice to spend time at Kurt's house. Sometimes Jake acts silly and we all have to laugh. Elliana and I brought our purses from China with us to church and since we were so matchy matchy we took a picture.

Once a month the Shilligs still have a conference call with all 10 children! It is so impressive to me to see the dedication and love they have. Uncle Kurt makes amazing cookies! Grandpa helps to teach Solomon how to close a zip-loc bag after getting yet another cookie.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween! Possibly ever! Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully. He even had the cutest song he sang. I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
