Ward 4th of July Breakfast

Jake's first party assignment he was given in the Bishopric was this breakfast.  Poor Jake had all these plans but soon realized that there were already certain ward traditions to go with.  We made it work and I think overall everyone seemed to enjoy it.
Joby loves to play with Mia's hair, and Malachi was really clingy.  Maybe because we got them up so early, the breakfast was at 8AM and we were there at 7AM.

Jake had the scouts march to a cadence followed by us as a ward singing the National Anthem.  They did such a great job.  Look at all those handsome young men in uniform!
Katie, Terri, and Brenda Meadows were such great cooks!  We had four stations (one manned by Bro. Pokipahla) to help cut down on lines and it worked.
I love the ladies in my ward.  Here are Sharelle, Celeste, and Carmen.
I love my husband.  I am grateful for his service and all those who serve and have served our country.  I am so excited for Beau to serve the U.S. in the Navy.
Happy 4th of July y'all!
(yes we made the hand shirts, I think they turned out darling, even though they weren't what I had planned)

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
