yucky sickness!

well our family is a bit ill lately...

i have had a "cold" for three/four weeks now and finally went back to the dr. on wednesday b/c my left side felt like i had broken ribs and hurt with every breath and cough like i was being punched in the chest and it turns out the dr. said he thinks i have a mild case of pnemonia and bronchitis... so he gave me an antibiotic and such (but b/c i am pregnant there isn't much you can or would want to do) and how lucky am i that the antibiotic makes me sick! so I spent two days vomitting! fun huh!? well i took my last day of antibiotics today and I am over the vomitting but the ribs and cough and runny nose are still there... hopefully they end soon! but the dr. made sure to tell me that "colds" can last for 8 weeks! isn't he kind?

to add to this jake was up last night throwing up and he thinks it is from something he ate.

but the good news is that aimi lark shillig has a great immune system and only had this "cold" the first two days that I did and she has been wonderful since! yay!

can you imagine if she was sick too? i feel like she is taking care of me and jake today...

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
