our home!

Our belongings arrived on Saturday! It was an eventful day to say the least. I am still sick so i just sat on a chair on the porch and checked off the boxes checklist as they came in. My dad directed them where to put things. Luke and our friend Eddie helped haul in some of the stuff. We have a HUGE "entertainment center" that is SOLID WOOD. We inherited this from Jake's Grandma Neville. It seperates into two pieces but after much effort they were only able to move up the bottom piece :( Jake and some others are going to try and go up and over the balcony this wkend with the top half because I LOVE THIS PIECE OF FURNITURE SO MUCH!

I have been working as hard as possible to unpack everything. Being sick slows down the process quite a bit. I want to get it all done so when jake gets here our home is all put together! I know it is a lofty goal but I set it myself and the other reason is that the boxes are driving me INSANE! I don't do well with a messy home!

On a side note the unpacking is quite a task because the lovely packers in monterey wrapped EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL THING in thick PAPER! not just one sheet per item... about TEN sheets of paper per item PLUS TAPE on EVERYTHING! So what should have taken them ONE DAY TO PACK and ABOUT 50 BOXES took them 2 days and 163 boxes! a little over kill if you ask me! They get paid by the pound so I think it was their goal to make a ton of money off the pounds of tape and boxes and paper!

Jake graduates on THURSDAY! YAY! I left our camera with him but I will post pictures ASAP!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
