Gaylord Texan Resort

Jake was gone with the Army and school was getting ready to start so I decided to impromptu (how most of my plans go) plan a getaway.  We took off and spent two incredible days swimming, snacking, and hanging out with family.  It was PERFECT!  It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves and thanks to Jake's fancy upgrades we had an amazing suite.  Here are all the pics from my big camera I took out on the first morning.  After that I just sat back and relaxed as the kids buddied up and took off. Since their resort water park is only open Memorial-Labor day we will say goodbye til Next summer!

Catch-Up

I do not even know where to start, but since I have this beautiful new desktop thanks to my sweet husband I figured it was a great reason to try. Jake is busy busy with work as an immigration attorney.  He works hard on all sorts of cases.  He has learned so much in the last couple of years and I am so proud of how far he has come.  In the beginning post-law school he did mainly EB-5 visas, but now he is well versed in the variety of options available to come to the US.  He is ramping up for weeks in the field for the Army and then a work trip to China.  I am grateful for all the hats he wears.  I do not know anyone who wears more than him.  He is a great husband, father, attorney, soldier, church member, and so much more! The kids are getting ready to go into 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades.  I have registered them, done school clothes and supply shopping so I am feeling pretty set and just ready for things to start.  I am so grateful ...

Solomon's 2nd Grade Easter Party

Now that I am home with the kids I am working hard to be as involved as I can be.  I know that will change when Leila Jin comes to our family because she will be a teeny tiny needy baby so I am soaking up all the chaperone Mom time I can get in.  Solomon asked me to help with his class Easter party.  I helped setup their snacks, hid the eggs, and loved on my sweet boy all I could.

Day Date with Mali Su

Our dear sweet Mali Su called us from school in tears.  She said she was in the bathroom and asked if we could come get her.  We went right away (thankfully Daddy was home, too).  When we got there her face was red as could be and she was so tearfully upset.  She let us know she wanted to do better and be better with her family at home.  She went on to tell us that she was just on the verge of tears all day.  She forgot an assignment, didn't check a box on Google Classroom, and it seemed to snowball all day.  We brought her home and cuddled her and told her how grateful we were that she called us.  We got it all sorted out and let her know it's okay to have bad days, just not all the time and that we have to learn to work through them best we can.  I then took her for the manicure she had been requesting to spend her money on.  She got super fancy dipped nails and I reminded her this would not be a regular thing.  I love ...

Baptism Invitation Pictures

Solomon and I went on a day date to Dallas. We visited the temple, bought his scriptures, and took lots (and lots) of pictures to pick one for his baptism invitation. It was cold and drizzling, but somehow the sun was still bright, but we made it work. We were done quickly and happily.
