First School Dance for AL and MS

Tonight was the girls first school dance. They were so excited! They planned out their hair and outfits. Last night we showed them videos online of how kid dances sometimes go. Let them know they would probably be the only ones brave enough to dance, etc. I just love them and how brave and outgoing they are. They handle everything life throws at them so well. I hope they are always willing to do new things, try hard things, and be the intelligent, righteous, outgoing, friendly, and smiling girls they are now. One of the Boys & Girls Club teachers sent me this video. The dance ends in 20 minutes and I cannot wait to hear all about it!

Chip and Joanna, Magnolia Market and the Silos

The girls love a TV show called, "Fixer Upper" and since they created an oasis in Waco, TX I couldn't wait to take them there. We spent the entire day just relaxing, playing in the fake grass, and having treats. I just love being a mother to these four treasures. I am so grateful for this day I had with them!

Packard LaPray Ladies

When all four kids were in school last fall I realized I wanted to do something during the day.  I realized I had very few marketable skills after 10+ years as a stay at home wife and mother and thought about interning or doing something to fill some time in my day.  Little did I know I would have such a great opportunity to work as a legal assistant/paralegal full-time.  I loved my job and the ladies I worked with.  I am excited for our next chapter, but sad that this one is ending too.  Here's to another Shillig 4 move.  I am not sure what my plans are moving forward, but I am excited for whatever they are.

Another Shillig 4 Move

The National Guard sent out an email saying the SBA needed more attorneys to process loans since we had three major hurricanes and now wildfires on the west.  It is insane.  Jake originally thought the job would be for 90 days.  The kids and I made plans to go up every weekend to visit while he was there.  Well on our first weekend visit he found out the job will be more permanent than originally anticipated.  Since we are homeless and with few belongings we decided to take the leap and move.  Our home isn't inhabitable anytime soon, we own very few possessions thanks to Harvey, and we know I have a gypsy bone.  The kids are up for the adventure and it helps that an amusement park is across the street from our hotel.  We will call the hotel home for the foreseeable future since it is covered for us.  Jake is an out-of-town hire so there are some "perks" that come along with that.  We are excited, but this week in Vidor will be SO FULL o...
