2012 Christmas Card Wrap-Up

Our cabinets are so bare now, but I went on a cleaning spree yesterday so they found a home in the craft closet til I pull out the scissors and glue for the kids to create masterpieces with your cards/family pictures.  Thanks to you all for sharing your families with ours over the Christmas season!  Til next year...

ST AUGUSTINE Bed and Breakfast

We were ever so fortunate to be given the opportunity to go to this bed and breakfast in St. Augustine for FREE and since the gift certificate expired this month and Jake had off for Martin Luther King weekend we went.  We had a great 23 hours away.  I am so grateful to Ben and Lyric for babysitting our babies for us (especially so last minute).  I love this hardworking man of mine.  I will say I never knew love could be like this.  I don't come from a family history of successful marriages so nine years with this man has opened a whole new world to me.   Our kids were just as kids should be when we picked them up.  They were filthy and playing outside.  I am a Mom who supports kids getting dirty and playing outside so props to Ben and Lyric!  These boys were out like a light before we even hit the freeway.  I love to live life and have as many experiences as I can and this was another one of th...

Casablanca (Chile)

We went to church, visited with people he taught, and other members.  It was the best! (posting on 2/6/19 playing blog catch up from my drafts folder)

Aimi Lark

This morning before school I took a picture of Aimi Lark.  She isn't allowed to wear her colorful tights anymore (silly uniform dresscode) so when she asked to wear her birthday boots from Grammie I let her. Well later on this morning Jake sent me this picture: I called him to get the story on it.  He told me that yesterday was early release so he went and picked up Aimi Lark and she stayed in his classroom while he had a meeting.  When he came back he found this picture she had drawn of Joseph, Mary, baby Jesus, and the Three Kings.  She even drew the star above in the sky.  I was impressed with all the words she wrote with the pictures.  I love my sweet girl!  Jake has her read the scriptures to him on the way to school (helping her with the hard words) and they sometimes listen to the Primary songs too.  I am glad we can uplift her before school and teach her these gospel truths in our home.  I love my sweet Aimi Lark. ...

Coloring

My kids love to color, draw, go outside, and all that other exciting kid stuff.  I wish I was better about making all that happen as often as they'd like and I'm working saying, "in a minute" less.  I love being a mother, I love being their world, I love being at the crossroads in life for them.  Aimi Lark's picture was "Boow" and "Jen" at their wedding.

Malachi Interprets Music

Malachi is laying in my bed with his Leapster (leappad2 from my Dad).  He loves to listen to the Kid's Bop music on there.  He plays ALL STAR (originally by SMASH MOUTH) and I start excitedly singing along leaning over him.   Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed She was lookin' kinda dumb with her finger And her thumb in the shape of an L on her forehead I put my finger and my thumb in the shape of an L on my forehead and Malachi corrects me saying, "he says ELF, like Christmas, ELF, like Santa Clause" I giggle to myself and continue singing the chorus. Hey now, you're an all star get your game on, go play Hey now, you're a rock star get the show on, get paid And all that glitters is gold Only shooting stars break the mold Malachi tells me, "He says GO PLAY outside, he has a trampoline" Seriously funny stuff, it's even funnier said with his little bit of a little kid lisp (...
