Gratitude Day 24

FAMILY! Oh what a blessing it is to live near SHILLIGS. I married into one heck of an amazing family. I love it,  and love that we can be with some of them for Thanksgiving TOMORROW! Don't worry, I love my family too, we get to see them at CHRISTMAS!

Day 1 @ Shillig 1s

We got here and settled in right away. I love how welcoming the Shillig 1 family is. It is also great to have to many kids and so many able hands all around. I am so excited for this week!

Gratitude Day 23

I am grateful today for all things Southern. As we drove today I saw all these words all over the place for this or that and it just made me happy to read and see things such as magnolias, Confederate flags, the words Dixie, and pecans. I know not everyone totally gets or agrees with Confederate flags being flown, but one large one I saw was over a cemetery, I wondered if it was a Confederate soldier cemetery. Oh and seeing the fields of cotton. I sang these words in my head over and over as I drove, "cotton on the road side, cotton in the ditch, we all picked the cotton but we never got rich..." It's "Song of the South" by Alabama. Cotton really was ALL over the road side, the breeze just took it away. I love the South, it makes me happy.  I know it is not perfect but I love the culture. Oh the culture...

Jazzin' up our Christmas cards

Tonight for some "art time" the kids colored the backs of the envelopes for the Christmas cards we're sending out this week.  If you get one from Malachi consider yourself a WINNER,   seriously, he didn't do very many.   Most of the cards take an abstract approach.  Enjoy your turkey this week!

Gratitude Day 22

Today I'm grateful for my husband's ability to make me happy when I'm completely irrational. Let me explain. Today we went to Disney because I wanted to see this NEMO show I heard/read about that is at Animal Kingdom. I couldn't wait til next week. I should have known full and well that it being THANKSGIVING week it'd be a madhouse and we usually avoid going on days that Jake has class because that just makes for a hard day for him. Well he was right, it was busy at Disney but he made my day. We saw Nemo (front row) for me and Bug's Life for him. Jacob, thank-you.   Thank-you for doing all the things you do to make me happy during all my moments . I had a blast today! GOOD JOB ON YOUR 1st LAW SCHOOL PAPER! We love you. Ring around the rosy before the show starts.  Mali Su held Jake's hand the entire show.  She is fine with new experiences just as long as she has something familiar to hang on to.  That is usually your clothing or hand. "Fis...

Gratitude Day 21

Tonight I am grateful for technology. After working for a little while and being half-way done with a paper for Beau's history class Jake's laptop crashes, well the screen goes black with all kinds of dos looking mumbo-jumbo on the screen.  It shuts down and I restart it.  I'm so upset, upset that I had yet to save his work.  Well when the computer re-boots and I restart the word processor program it says that my last work was not saved due to an "unexpected shut down" of my computer, would I like to recover the document? OF COURSE I'D LIKE TO RECOVER THE DOCUMENT!! I was so grateful at that moment.  That was my first experience with something like that. How awesome is technology!? Beau's assignment has been successfully turned in, thank-you and good-night.

Gratitude Day 20

I had no idea it was already the 20th!  WOW! OK so today I am truly grateful for working out/the gym/the ability to lose weight. I have been catching up on the BIGGEST LOSER TV show online and feeling motivated that I can do it again, lose the baby weight that is. I am grateful that after Malachi I was able to workout and learn just what I am capable of. I am not naturally an athletic person. I feel blessed to have lost the weight before I got pregnant this time.  I am grateful for my physical body and what I learned it is capable of. I mean, I ran a race! I ran. I can do this, I feel blessed to be able to work hard to lose the weight again after baby #4 comes. I am grateful to now have confidence in my physical abilities.
