Farewell

to LTC Leblow,   CPT Williams,   and Darlene. Jake's work today had a little farewell party for some wonderful people that have been there throughout our ROTC career these last 3 years.    We are excited for each of them as they go on to the next chapter of their lives. If you look in the top picture Jake is about to hand flowers to the wives.   Aimi Lark yelled out,  "MOMMY! Jake got you flowers!!!"   She was so excited but I had to let her know that Daddy didn't get those flowers for me.   She seemed a little confused that Daddy would have flowers in his hand for anyone but Mommy. We are off to the Manti Pageant tonight, I have been waiting 7 years for this!

The mall, 2 museums, & lunch

All before 1PM. Not too shabby for 2 moms and 5 kids. We first hit up the mall for some sale shopping.  I, like always, bought nothing.  I always talk myself out of purchases because I tell myself I was doing just fine without whatever I contemplated buying.  For example this shower scrub gel stuff for $3.  Even thought it was on sale from $12, I said to myself as I stood in line at the check-out, "I don't need this, I have soap at home."  I then put it back and bought nothing. After the mall we headed to the BEAN Museum at BYU.  I had wanted to go to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point but it is a little bit of a drive and they charge admission.  I talked myself out of it because the BEAN Museum is minutes away, FREE, and the kids love seeing these animals, I think, just as much as the farm animals.  Mali Su and Jordan wanted nothing to do with this tarantula but Aimi Lark of course stepped right up and petted it. My girls loved this Zebra. ...

Somehow I forgot to tell y'all

But the other night (June 9th) after baths and while Jake was folding laundry Malachi took three steps from where I was dressing him to where Jake was!  We then spent the next little while having him walk back and forth to us.  He falls forward quite a bit and is not close to walking on his own but he will now walk around furniture, transfer between different furniture, and push his push toy successfully.   GO MALACHI!

My kids smell of sunscreen,

I have tan lines on my shoulders, Aimi Lark has sun kissed cheeks/nose, and  when I tucked Mali Su in bed I kissed her head and smelled the scent of sunscreen.   I loved it, SUMMER is here! Well officially SUMMER 2010 will start June 20 or 21 depending on your location from what I've read. Today we had our first playgroup of the SUMMER at the POOL. Playgroup will from now on be at the pool each week.  Easy for me to plan and fun to be had by all! Aimi Lark as usual was her adventurous self.  She has a natural ability to do things that are outdoorsy/athletic.  She does NOT get this trait from me.  That is ALL Shillig right there.  She was swimming up a storm without a care in the world.  She was good though and would ask for someone to come to her when she wanted to jump in.  Thank you for being safety conscience my dear.   Malachi did not appreciate Uncle Brody setting him on the side of the pool and then getting out in a hur...

Reasons why I blog

I don't remember why I first started blogging but I do remember when.  It was Memorial Day Weekend at the Sarager house in Gilbert, AZ.  Jake was stationed at FT. Huachuca and we were up visiting the Saragers for the weekend. So, since they had Internet and I had seen other people I know with "blogs" I started one for myself.  For a long time the word BLOG was weird to me so I called it our "family website."  Now I've come to terms with the fact that this is indeed a blog. I love that my family and friends far and wide can see what we are up to and I no longer have to send out update emails with pictures.  I know I should call people more often but the thought of giving numerous people a family update for an hour on the phone with three needy little ones is not even a thought that enters my mind anymore.    If you want to know what we are up to, read our blog. I LOVE not having to keep up with prints, scrapbook materials, and all the fixings that go...

Mali Su is 2 years & 4.5 months

and gets more hilarious on a daily basis. She has so many moments that just make us crack up laughing. She is ever so clumsy.  She is smart and catches on to concepts quickly. She is flexible.   She can have quite the appetite. She is the maker of MANY hilarious faces and expressions. She is quite creative when it comes to entertaining herself. She has the prettiest light blue eyes, the roundest tummy, loose curls, and short little leggies.  Here are some Mali Su moments that come to mind. On Sunday at church Mali Su while sitting with Jake looked over at the congregation and with her outstretched open hand pointed and said "those are my people" and then pointed up front to the stage/stand where the Bishopric sits and said "those are my prophets." She sometimes speaks in a deep, raspy, semi-crazy sounding voice.  She will say, "I'm gonna get my sword, and get the bad guys!"   While dancing at Larkie's house Jordan took off her clothes to da...
