Black & Gold Fridays

The alarm goes off at 6am each day and we are up and running.  Daddy does scriptures during breakfast while I make lunches and do hair.  Zelda is always underfoot & loves to bark at the school bus.
I got a new camera for classes I start full time on Monday through BYU-Idaho online.  I am studying web design/development and while I'm nervous I find myself excited.
I love that our kids are able to rise and shine with a smile on their faces.  I wake them by singing, "good morning, good morning, good morning to you.  It's time to wake up" again and again.
Then when we wait for the bus they walk back and forth in a hope to keep the mosquito bites to a minimum.  I have no such luck, they bite me and leave huge whelps on my skin.
Malachi is in 2nd grade and I love that he got so excited to see me at school yesterday when I was volunteering.  He is such a sweet boy.
Solomon is in Kindergarten and after a rough first couple days he has been on "green" (good) each day!
Mali Su is in 4th and some kids teased her on the playground saying "Mali Su is new" repeatedly, but she handled it like a champ.
Aimi Lark is in 4th and has mastered her 12s in times tables.  The confidence she has in herself now with multiplication facts is all thanks to her Daddy helping her memorize.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
